Mergers and Acquisitions
Cumberland Capital has worked on numerous acquisitions and divestitures, with a wide range of industries, size and location of company. Industries include industrial manufacturers, consumer product manufacturers, distribution companies, retailers and service companies. The size has ranged from $10 million to $350 million in revenue. Cumberland has represented the buy side and the sell side.
A manufacturing company desired to expand via acquisition. While the CEO had many contacts within the industry, he judiciously decided that he either had time to manage his business or to seek acquisitions, but not both. The CEO provided fifty ideas on possible acquisitions, with the list eventually expanded to 150 possible candidates. The list was then narrowed down to several dozen that met the criteria of size, niche, and location, representing owners who had a reason to sell and were willing to talk with the client.
